Research

The Prospira PainCare Research Program is an organization of collaborative research investigational sites working closely with and meeting the needs of the biopharmaceutical, medical device, pharmaceutical industry and clinical research organizations. We are a distinctive and pioneering resource site for Phase II, Phase III and Phase IV clinical trials. We have sites located across the country with a primary focus in Florida, New Jersey, Georgia and Texas. Our sites offer a wide variety of trial studies that may be suitable for a diverse pool of qualified individuals in the therapeutic area of pain management. Our patient database consist of more than 85,000 patients, ages 18 and up with a wide variety of pain related diagnoses.

Our Sites are fully equipped to meet the needs of sponsors and CROs in the conduct of Phase II-IV clinical trials in the specialized area of the chronic pain syndrome. Our unique interdisciplinary treatment approach has been determined to be the most effective methodology according to the American Academy of Pain Management. We have convenient access to major medical centers around the area and are well positioned near major universities known for their medical programs including University of Florida, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M and Princeton University.

The Prospira PainCare research program is dedicated to providing our subjects with qualified professionals who utilize good clinical practices to ensure the subject’s safety and wellbeing. Through our clinical trials, subjects are offered access to new medical treatments and devices. Quality data is routinely provided to our sponsors, which aids in maintaining the safety and efficacy of the trials we participate in. Research Leadership

Matty Culbreth- Notaro, RN, BSN, CCRC- Executive Director of Research Administration.

Matty is the Executive Director of Research Administration for Prospira Pain Care and the National Pain Research Institute, LLC (NPRI) corporation

Matty received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from the Florida State University in 1991 and began her nursing career in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Miami Children’s Hospital. Her career in clinical research began at Nemours Children Clinic where she successfully developed and managed the research programs for the Orlando, and Pensacola, Fl. divisions and assisted with the ongoing development of the research programs for Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital, and Orlando Regional Medical Center. In 2006, Matty established a Biomedical Research company called Global Clinical Research Management, Inc. As owner and President of GCRM, Inc. she was the key leader in developing the operational programs for the organization servicing thousands of clients across the country to include leading pharmaceutical companies, CRO’s , hospitals and private physician practices. Matty’s focus was to assist physician practices and hospitals throughout the country in implementing or further developing the clinical research programs within their institution. The physicians and their patients were given access to cutting edge medicine, providing them with leading care. Her expertise in the area of clinical research brought her across the country to Southern California where she worked as a consultant for MemorialCare Health System. She joined forces with a team of experts to revamp and restructure the Biomedical Research Program, enterprise wide concentrating her efforts in Clinical Operations as the Director for that division. She managed the clinical operations for Long Beach Memorial, Millers Women and Children Hospital, Saddleback Memorial and Orange Coast Memorial.

Matty is a seasoned veteran with well over twenty five years of experience supervising protocol teams for a variety of corporate entities. She comes to Propsira and NPRI, LLC with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the area of clinical operations and has successfully managed a variety of Clinical Research projects to include: Phases I-IV, Investigator Initiated Trials, External Non-Clinical Research Studies, Observational and Registry trials.

Her scope of management capabilities include working directly with various globalized talent ranging from Vice Presidents, Medical Directors, Investigators, Medical Liaisons, Global Study Coordinators, Affiliates, Jr/Sr Clinical Research Nurses Coordinators, Jr/Sr Clinical Research Associates, various Joint Committee Members, Legal and Patent Departments.

She is expertly trained in regulatory, budget, contract negotiation, quality assurance, compliance and clinical research operations.

Clinical Research Experience

Our clinical trial sites have been participating in clinical research trials since April 2007 . Our coordinators are highly trained and experienced with such certifications as ACRP CCRC, lATA Certification, NIH and GCP training, as well as a working knowledge of the CFR. All of our coordinators are trained in phlebotomy, injections, IVs, EKG, breathalyzers, UDS onsite testing, EDC trained on multiple systems, eDiary proficient on many different systems and trial slate experience.

Facility Description

Our interdisciplinary sites offers multi-therapeutic outpatient care to our patients who are managed for by our Board Certified physicians and seasoned Investigators. The patients at our site have the unique opportunity to have their entire treatment plan carried out in our offices.

Our facility has X-ray capabilities as well as ECGs, and phlebotomy. We have infusion therapy for subjects requiring it. In our surgical procedure room we perform cervical and lumbar epidurals, cervical and lumbar Facet injections, fluoroscopic guided Radio Frequency Lesioning, nerve blocks, trigger point injections, implantable medication dispensing pump trials, spinal cord stimulation trials and joint injections.

Conducting studies since 2007, we have a combined subject database of more than 85,000 patients. As of today, our board certified physicians have completed a large number of successful clinical trials. Clinical trials at our site are always completed on time and with accuracy; we consistently exceed sponsor expectation for subject enrollment, human protection, compliance, integrity and expeditious delivery of accurate evaluable data. We are able to use a Central IRB of the sponsors choice and have our CTA’s reviewed and executed within 2 weeks of receipt. Our average start up time from protocol receipt to site activation is less than one month. Our sites use a state of the art and fully integrated CTMS system that tracks our trials and subjects for optimal organization. Prospira Paincare provides an integrated research sites network, with standard operating procedures across multiple sites. Our many research sites located throughout the county are known for effectively combining tactical volunteer recruitment and retention with high quality clinical research techniques. Our approach is categorical – each study conducted at our site is carefully planned and executed according to regulations with superior quality.

Our experienced research teams have an added clinical and research value by offering leading expertise in medical science, a direct connection with primary providers, a vast understanding of regulatory requirements and integrated Standard Operating Procedures across all sites. Our sites also offer rapid enrollment through our extensive patient database, proactive management and strong subject database with recruitment via global marketing and advertising. We also offer leading training for research staff provided by recognized industry professionals, like ACRP and SOCRA.

The National Pain Research Institute, LLC, which is a division of the National Pain Institute, a Prospira PainCare Center of Excellence is located in the beautiful state of Florida. We have two offices in the greater Orlando area. Our Winter Park office is just outside the city of Orlando. Our second location lies on the east side of town, right outside the Orlando International Airport on Semoran Blvd. We are the largest pain management facility in the Central Florida area. We have direct access to the public transportation system with bus stops right outside our door creating great accessibility to our patients.
